Aryze Pay by Bank (UK)

1. Introduction

  1. 1.1 This Regulatory Disclosure and Legal Notice explains the roles of the parties involved in Aryze Pay by Bank in the United Kingdom.
  2. 1.2 It is intended to help users understand which entity provides which part of the service, including the distinction between Aryze's technology role, Volt's regulated payment initiation role, and the underlying banking and connectivity infrastructure used to enable payments.
  3. 1.3 This notice should be read together with Aryze's General End User Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

2. Who We Are

3. Aryze's Role

  1. 3.1 Aryze provides the user-facing technology, service interface, orchestration layer and related infrastructure used to support the Aryze Pay by Bank experience.

  5. 3.5 Aryze does not operate the user's bank account.
  6. 3.6 Aryze does not itself provide regulated payment initiation services unless explicitly stated otherwise.

4. Regulated Payment Initiation Services

  1. 4.1 Where the Aryze Pay by Bank service includes a regulated payment initiation service in the United Kingdom, that regulated service is provided by Volt Technologies Holdings Limited.
  2. 4.2 Volt Technologies Holdings Limited is part of Volt's legal structure described in Volt's legal materials and is listed together with registered office details at:

  4. 4.4 Aryze relies on Volt for the regulated payment initiation component only.
  5. 4.5 Aryze does not provide AIS under this setup.

5. No Account Information Services

  1. 5.1 Aryze Pay by Bank is offered on the basis described in Aryze's legal documentation and commercial setup.
  2. 5.2 In this setup, Aryze relies on licensed coverage for payment initiation services only.
  3. 5.3 No statement on the Aryze Pay by Bank website, checkout, or related user documentation should be interpreted as meaning that Aryze provides regulated account information services.

6. Underlying Connectivity and Payment Infrastructure

  1. 6.1 Aryze Pay by Bank uses open banking and open finance connectivity to enable account-to-account payment flows.
  2. 6.2 Aryze's technical orchestration may operate on top of infrastructure and connectivity frameworks, including Mastercard Open Banking / Open Finance. Mastercard publicly describes these services as open banking and open finance connectivity and API infrastructure that supports payment and bank-connected use cases.
  3. 6.3 The use of Mastercard Open Banking or similar infrastructure does not mean that Mastercard is the merchant, the bank, or the regulated payment initiation provider to the end user in the Aryze Pay by Bank flow.
  4. 6.4 The user's own bank remains responsible for the bank account, authentication methods, and execution of the payment instruction through the relevant payment rails and banking systems.

7. No Funds Held by Aryze

  1. 7.1 Aryze does not receive, hold, safeguard or control user funds.
  2. 7.2 Funds move directly from the user's bank account to the relevant merchant or payee through the relevant banking and payment systems.
  3. 7.3 Aryze's role is limited to the technology, interface and orchestration functions described in this notice and related legal documents.

8. Relationship with Your Bank

  1. 8.1 Your bank or payment account provider is separate from Aryze and Volt.
  2. 8.2 Your bank is responsible for:
    • your payment account;
    • your online or mobile banking environment;
    • authentication and security credentials;
    • authorising and executing the relevant transfer in accordance with applicable banking rules.
  3. 8.3 Aryze does not control your bank's systems, uptime, authentication processes or payment execution environment.

9. Relationship with the Merchant

  1. 9.1 If you use Aryze Pay by Bank to pay a merchant, the merchant remains responsible for the goods, services, subscriptions or other products you purchase.
  2. 9.2 Aryze is not the seller or supplier of those goods or services unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  3. 9.3 Questions relating to delivery, cancellation, returns or refunds for the underlying purchase should normally be directed to the merchant.

10. Complaints and Support

  1. 10.1 If you have a question or complaint about the Aryze-branded user experience, website, hosted payment interface, or general technical flow, you may contact Aryze at:

    Email: legal@aryze.io

    Aryze ApS, Bredgade 3, 1260 Copenhagen, Denmark

  2. 10.2 If your complaint relates specifically to a regulated payment initiation service, the complaint may need to be handled by or coordinated with Volt as the relevant regulated provider for that part of the service. Volt's public legal materials set out its own end-user legal framework.
  3. 10.3 Where applicable under law, users may also have access to further complaint escalation routes available in relation to the regulated provider.

11. Data Protection Role Clarity

  1. 11.1 Aryze may process personal data in connection with the operation of the Aryze interface, technology stack, service orchestration, security, support and related platform functions.
  2. 11.2 Volt may process personal data in connection with the regulated payment initiation function that it provides.
  3. 11.3 The merchant and the user's bank also act separately in relation to their own processing activities.
  4. 11.4 More information is set out in Aryze's Privacy Policy and, where relevant, in the legal notices of the applicable regulated provider and other third parties.

12. Important User Clarification

  1. 12.1 When you use Aryze Pay by Bank, several distinct parties may be involved in delivering different parts of the overall service.
  2. 12.2 In summary:
    • Aryze provides the technology, interface and orchestration layer;
    • Volt provides the regulated PIS component where required;
    • Mastercard Open Banking / Open Finance may support underlying connectivity and infrastructure;
    • your bank holds your account and executes the payment;
    • the merchant provides the goods or services you are paying for.
  3. 12.3 This distinction is important because not every party performs the same legal, operational or regulatory role.

13. Changes to This Notice

  1. 13.1 Aryze may update this Regulatory Disclosure and Legal Notice from time to time.
  2. 13.2 The latest version will be made available through the relevant Aryze website, hosted checkout, or related service interface.
